Der Feldweg, 2017, oil on canvas
The celebrated artist Armando, who passed away in 2018, would have turned 90 in September. In honor of this occasion, Armando's paintings, drawings, and ceramics are on display at various locations throughout the museum. Amstelveen was an important place for Armando. For many years, he lived alternately in Amstelveen, Berlin, and Potsdam. Also on display is the collection Toch te bewonderen (Still to be admired): a collection consisting of a folder of unpublished poems and ultra-short stories that Armando wrote in the last year before his death.
The Jan van der Togt Museum is delighted and grateful that the Armando Foundation has donated a beautiful work of art to Armando: Bowl no. 92, 2012 (96 cm wide x 20.5 cm high). The impressive bowl is a wonderful addition to the art objects in the museum's permanent collection. Now on display in the museum hall!
