Reservations are not necessary.

Accessibility

Museum JAN is largely accessible to visitors with reduced mobility. Only the upper room is not wheelchair accessible, and the coffee corner can only be reached via a few steps. A limited number of wheelchairs are available for loan; we recommend reserving one in advance.

Car

The museum is located near the A9 motorway. From the A9, take exit 5 (Amstelveen). From the exit, follow the signs marked 'Museum JAN'.

Parking

You can park for free anywhere around the museum and in the Old Village.

Public transportation

Museum JAN is accessible by bus. The nearest stops are a short walk from the museum.

  • From Amstelveen bus station: Take bus 174 (towards Amstelveen KLM Headquarters) or bus 186 (weekdays only) and get off at the Raadhuis/Dorpsstraat stop. From here, it is about a 3-minute walk.

  • Walking from Amstelveen bus station: it takes about 15 minutes to walk from the bus station to the museum via Oudekerkerlaan and Dorpsstraat.

Coffee corner

On Sundays and Wednesdays, you can enjoy coffee and cake in the museum, freshly prepared and served by Lunchroom La Gare. On other days, you can help yourself to a cup of coffee or tea in our coffee corner.

Frequently asked questions

  • For a regular visit to Museum JAN, it is not necessary to book in advance. You can simply walk in during opening hours and purchase a ticket at the counter.

  • Museum JAN accepts the Museum Card as a valid admission ticket. With a valid Museum Card, you have free admission to the museum. Unfortunately, we do not accept the Friends Lottery Card as an admission ticket.

    You can also visit Museum JAN free of charge with a valid ICOM card, Rembrandtpas, or Amstelveenpas.

    You do not need to purchase a ticket in advance; you can have your pass scanned at the desk upon arrival. Don't forget to bring your card with you when you visit.

  • Yes, Museum JAN is fun and accessible for children. There are regular workshops, a treasure hunt through the exhibitions, and a drawing table where children can get creative. The treasure hunt is available free of charge at the reception desk. It allows children to discover the exhibitions and the glass collection in a playful way.

  • There are several free parking spaces available in the vicinity of the museum.

  • Yes, there are a limited number of wheelchairs available to borrow for your visit to the museum. We recommend that you reserve one in advance via info@museumjan.nl.

  • Yes, it is possible to book a guided tour at Museum JAN. During a guided tour, an expert guide will take your group through the permanent collection or a temporary exhibition. Requests can be made via educatie@museumjan.nl.
