Friendship is valuable!

Museum JAN is proud of its large group of Friends: they feel connected to the museum and closely follow the collection and activities. Thanks to their financial contributions, the museum can realize various projects that would otherwise not have been possible, such as publications, acquisitions for the collection, and educational programs for special target groups. Friendship is, of course, a two-way street: the museum offers its Friends interesting benefits in return.

What are the benefits for you as a Friend?

You can become a Friend of Museum JAN for an annual contribution of €50. If you pay a one-time amount of €500, you become a Friend for Life. In both cases, you will receive a Friends Pass that offers the following benefits:

  • Free admission to the museum.

  • Free admission to exclusive Friends gatherings and exhibition previews (at least four times a year).

  • Free admission to lectures, artist talks, etc. as part of the fringe program accompanying exhibitions.

  • A digital newsletter (approximately once a month).

Gifts & bequests

Museum JAN relies on admission fees, Friends of Museum JAN, the municipality of Amstelveen, corporate friends, and funds. Private donations and bequests are an important source of funding. Thanks to these financial contributions, the museum can organize exhibitions and free educational programs for future generations.

Museum JAN has been designated a cultural ANBI by the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration. This means that every donation benefits Museum JAN in full and the donor enjoys tax benefits.

Gifting:

  • Gift Tax Act: individuals may deduct 125% of their donation to a cultural ANBI from their income tax. Example: a donation of €1,000 may be entered as €1,250 for the calculation of your deduction.

  • Regular donations: are you committing to donate for at least five years? Then the amount is fully tax-deductible, with no threshold or ceiling.

Neglect:

Thanks to its ANBI status, the museum is exempt from inheritance tax. If you wish to include Museum JAN in your will, you can do so by naming the museum as an heir, making a donation in the form of a bequest, or setting up a Named Fund.

We would be happy to discuss with you what your contribution could mean for the museum during a personal meeting. Would you like more information or do you have questions about donations or bequests? Please contact the director, Marieke Uildriks: marieke.uildriks@museumjan.nl or call 020 641 57 54.
