Family Workshop: Glass Painting!

Create your own 3D glass painting at and discover the interplay of light and shadow! Let’s draw inspiration from artist Christiaan Kuitwaard, who paints silence. Choose a beautiful subject—such as the sea with seashells, your own garden, or a water bottle—and play with light and dark.

Designer Diederik Schneemann takes you on a tour of his exhibition 1 + 1 = 3 and shares the surprising stories behind his works. In his designs, Schneemann plays with the concept of value. Why does he use thousands of dice in his furniture? How does he make a cabinet out of nothing but matchboxes?

On Display – Glass Collection and Exhibitions
Museum JAN has one of the most prominent collections of modern glass art in the Netherlands. Glass sculptures by leading Dutch artists and designers, as well as international masterpieces, can be admired in the museum's galleries.
In addition, Museum JAN presents a diverse program of rotating exhibitions—about four per year. The program focuses on Dutch artists, ranging from established names to emerging talent, and covers everything from painting to fashion and design. Currently on view: Christiaan Kuitwaard – Painter of Stillness and Diederik Schneemann – 1 + 1 = 3.
