Welcome to the wonderful world of Rive Roshan
Visitors to Museum JAN are immersed in the wondrous universe of Rive Roshan. Spread across the various exhibition spaces of Museum JAN, the duo creates three compelling experiences that challenge our perception of space, light, and time. Sometimes you won't even realize what you're looking at! Natural effects such as ripples in water, patterns formed by the wind in sand, and magical light reflections are accurately replicated through the experimental and highly refined use of everyday materials. This creates visual and spatial meditations that change our perspective on the world.
The work of Amsterdam studio Rive Roshan forms a contemporary link between the unique permanent collection of international glass art by Jan van de Togt, founder of Museum JAN, and the broader vision behind the museum's programming to unlock art and culture as an essential part of society. The basis for all this is wonder. "We believe that our role as artists and designers is to offer people a new and inspiring narrative with which they can build a progressive future," say Ruben de la Rive Box and Golnar Roshan.
Rive Roshan
Rive Roshan was founded in London in 2013 by Dutch designer Ruben de la Rive Box (Naarden, 1981) and Iranian-Australian designer Golnar Roshan (Sydney, 1986). The studio initiates projects, exhibitions, and ideas based on an intrinsic need to touch, inspire, and move others with new insights. De la Rive Box and Roshan have worked for various international design studios, including those of Tom Dixon, Marcel Wanders, and Tord Boontje. The duo has been living and working in Amsterdam since 2017. Rive Roshan's work has been exhibited all over the world, including at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne, the Powerhouse Museum Sydney, the Shanghai Museum of Glass, and most recently with an impressive installation at BIG ART Zaandam.
